Best Salvadorian restaurant in the av hands down, service is always awesome definitely recommend it to everyone!!

  • *****

Great place for everyone to come and enjoy traditional Salvadoran food in the AV. It's a quiet and family oriented restaurant.

  • *****

Amazing Salvadoran resturant, had not found one in the AV. The pictures basically say it all. Food was very authentic.

  • *****

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. It's hidden east to the cinemas on Lancaster Blvd. I was very pleased with all the flavors of the food. Ordered pan con pollo (chicken sandwich), pupusas reveueltas (mixed cheese beans and pork) and fried plantains. I would recommend if you are looking for tasty salvadorean food and are in the area.

  • *****

I had cheese and zucchini pupusas. My hubby had eggs, chorizo with rice, beans and fried plantains. It was my first time having Salvadorian food. Everything was so delicious, like comfort food. The atmosphere is great and relaxed and the two waitresses were very attentive and pleasant.

    Very good Pupusas ????

  • *****

Food is excellent! Pupusas and plantanos fritos are delicious. Nice little local owned business with a friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

  • *****

I really enjoy their Revueltas papusas. It has a great flavor, and the price is great as well. There are a couple of spots on the Blvd. that sells papusas, but theirs is by far the best! I now want to try other items on the menu. I recommend this place to everyone!

  • *****

Delicious pupusas on sale every Tuesday! Service could be a little quicker. Don't recommend calling in though because they either won't answer or leave you waiting for ten minutes or more.

  • *****

Pupusas we're hot and fresh. Really good and I liked the options they have (mushrooms and cheese, loroco and cheese, zucchini ) and many more. Horchata was a little to sweet but I added a little water and it was perfect. The only thing was the pupusas are a little small for $2 each but other then that this place is great! Oh and the quesadilla was bomb!

  • *****

The pupusas are sooooo yummy! I just wish the salsa and curtido had a little more spice/kick.

  • *****

    Great pupusa and fried yucca!

  • *****

I have had there pupusas and they are very very good I've also had there carne asada tacos delicious I look forward to try more things everything is well priced service was excellent

  • *****

This is the best Salvadoran restaurant in the AV.
The place is small, but it's clean and service is always great!
They have a variety of traditional plates and although their menu is not overly extensive, they have the main traditional typical plates from El Salvador.
The Pupusas are great, and not greasy like in other places.
I love their Lorocco Omelette for breakfast!
We've ordered different plates and we've always liked their food.
I am very picky with Pupusas, nuegados, and quesadilla because I know how to make them well, and I really like theirs.
Don't think their quesadilla is expensive, because it is well worth it's price. (Don't confuse with Mexican quesadillas; Salvadoran quesadillas is sweet bread)

If you want to try Salvadoran food you won't be disappointed if you come here!

    Very delicious food

  • *****

Very delicious food, also very authentic too, make sure you order before you get there, it takes a while for your order, but what do you expect with great food?...patience my friends.

  • *****

The food was lovely, and it really did remind me of the flavours of my childhood. The service was impeccable, all of the staff was warm and amiable. The presentation was good as well, having a flair not usually typical of a Salvadorian restaurant. Overall, the experience was wonderful, and I would highly recommend Cantarito Restaurant to anyone who wants a real, authentic experience of Salvadorian food and hospitality.

  • *****

Great authentic salvadorian food in AV! I am definitely coming back for their delicious pupusas

  • *****

Their food is amazing. The service is great. Would recommend this place to everyone.

We stumbled upon this gem one night while strolling the BLVD. And we are so happy we did! The prices are very reasonable and the food was even better! We enjoyed several varieties of pupusa (all gluten free), a few tacos, some fried plantains, and some of the best chips and salsa I have ever had.

  • *****

The food is amazing!! It is a very cute and clean little family restaurant. The employees are very nice and well I can't get enough of of the yummy food. They just opened this week and I have been there twice. The have the best papusas I have ever had!!

  • *****

Amazing pupusas. They were huge for the price. If you want Salvadorian you have to come here.

  • *****

My first time there and I'm a fan!!! Best pupusas in the Antelope Valley! Cute place and friendly server:)

  • *****

Small place but cozy, they do have booths for seating, had 3 street Asada tacos, 4 pupusa, French fries, 3 sodas for $25

  • *****

Best Authentic Salvadoran food. The pupusas are amazing, they come with salsa and coleslaw on the side. Their soups are so tasty and plentiful that the deep dish it is served on will fill you right up.

  • *****

Finally, someone has shrimp pupusas. Shrimp and cheese actually. New on Lancaster blvd. Had pupusas and the Russian salad. Potato salad with beets. Vivian has the pupusas with loroco and cheese. She liked them alot. The guacamole was viv's favorite. Salvadoran style with lots of lemon and onion. Very clean inside . We'll be coming back.

Our friend found this restaurant by accident and glad he did. The owners were wonderful and the food was fantastic. I'm from E.S and it's hard finding good Salvadoran food. I'm sad that they are so far away from us but will definitely stop there again next time we are there for soccer. A must visit place.... Try the beans with the cream and plantain bananas. The plantain bananas are on the sweeter side but mixing it with the beans and cream taste really good. Try the pupusas.... They are different kinds my favorite is cheese or cheese with beans.

  • *****

This place is DELICIOUS. everything is always made fresh, the pupusas are the best and most authentic I've tried in the AV.
The service is very friendly, makes you feel right at home.

  • *****

Love it! Today was the first time going to Cantarito Restaurant. Best salvadorean restaurant and I am salvadorean which brings me back where I am from. :) horchata is very good!!

  • *****

I've eaten here a few times so far and I've loved it each time. The food is amazing. The staff has been very attentive and I always get sat at a table quickly. I've tried a few different dishes, but the pupusas are my favorite. The ensalada (drink) is so refreshing. The restaurant has always been very clean. This is near the top of my list for places to eat in the AV that isn't your typical chain restaurant.

  • *****

DELICIOUS!!!! I ordered pupusas mixed and chicharon with cheese. Great flavor not all packed with bean, you can actually taste the chicharon. I also ordered casamientos, fried plantain and sour cream. Loved that they don't add sugar to the plantains, they also don't just put the whole entire plantain, they actually cut it and fire it. The sour cream was just right and full of salt. There customer service was really good too, not like other places. Can't wait to try the shrimp pupusas... Yes they have shrimp pupusas and many others to choose from. They are vegetarian friendly as well :)

  • *****

OMG! So glad this is so close to my job! The pupusas are big and tasty. The platanos fritos are sweet. Their frijoles con crema and queso hit the spot everytime.

  • *****

This review is coming from a 100% Salvadorea. We had been looking for a Salvadoran restaurant in the AV quite for sometime and we finally found this spot. After reading the reviews we decided to try it out.
We ordered platanos Fritos with beans, yuca frita con chicharrones, bean and revuelta pupusas and horchata and tamarindo. I have to say that the food is very authentic! The only complain would be that they were a little skimpy with the chicharrones. The green salsa served with the chips has a nice spicy kick to it. I have to say that the curtido (pickled cabbage) and red salsa are by far the best I've had in a while.
The only reason why I gave it a 4 was because of the wait but it was worth it. We will definitely be coming back and no longer commuting to The Valley for Salvadoran food and of course supporting our local small businesses.

  • *****

The food was delicious, had the pupusas and black beans with rice. The service was excellent and the food was served in a timely manner. I will definitely visit cantartos restaurant again.

  • *****

The pupusas are delicious. Best in the AV. The Salvadoran breakfast is a must have and it's served all day!!! The curtido and salsa add that finishing touch that makes this our favorite spot for authentic Salvadoran food.

  • *****

Very good food and good service you go to try it. You can taste the home made and fresh products.

  • *****

Very good food!! Their guac is excellent. Very reasonable prices. The service is friendly. I would love to see them stay.

  • *****

I haven't had the opportunity to have real authentic Salvadorian food, but this has to be pretty dead on!! The popusas were great! The coleslaw was amazing and the pastelitos were out of this world!!!!!

  • *****

This is the best place to get pupusas in the AV! I'm so glad I checked this place out. I've been there about 3 times in the last month and must say it is the real deal. The service is quick and friendly. The food is authentic. The Horchata is amazing and the quesadilla is so tasty. I won't go to any other Salavadoran restaurant. Love this place!

  • *****

Food was outstanding, and customer service was top-notch! Prices are more than fair. Family owed is a plus! Thanks for welcoming my party of 11. We will be back.

  • *****

I'm so happy that my family and I found this restaurant. We're usually picky with out pupusas but we were delighted to find out how delicious they are here. The staff was very friendly, we were seated quickly and the restaurant is clean!! We will definitely be back for more! I'm glad that I can stay in touch with my roots with food.

  • *****

This place is amazing. It's small, clean and very warm with friendly service - but the food is AMAZING!!!

I had the pollo guisada, which is like chicken and potato stew - very savory, salty, DELICIOUS!! With rice

Also patelitos, little fried meat pockets with potato - delicious. The rice? Delicious.

Highly recommended - this is another small gem of a restaurant - which is great because Lancaster needs it.

  • *****

Bomb spot for Salvidorian food! The food is delicious. The service is kind and fast. The location is cool, clean, and, festive! It has be come out go-to spot for Salvi food and we will keep coming back AND recommending it!

  • *****

I have been to many places here in lancaster and I can say this place is delicious due to the fact that majority of restaurants here in lancaster are no good...breakfast is delicious taste just like homemade

  • *****

Was looking for a real good pupusa place to have dinner with my mother. Came across this place and I must say its the best I've had in the AV.. It's super authentic and good. Little hole on the Blvd. farmers market is held right out front on Thursdays and they have specials on Tuesday and Wednesday's also.

  • *****

I came with a group tonight and I ordered the fried bananas and the carne asada. The restaurant itself was cozy and nice, there were nice decorations everywhere. The food was good but in small portions, but at a very reasonable price so order more than you think is enough. I liked the steak in the carne asada and the fried bananas were sweet but soggy after 5 minutes. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

Today my husband and I stopped in here because we went to BEX and they didn't come to our table for such a long time we left. Cantarito is small and nice. We walked in and there was no wait. It was about 3pm. I had no idea what to order so I asked and was advised to try the pollo guisado and it was amazing. The chicken was tender and moist. The flavor was amazing. My husband had two pork tamales and a cheese papusa which he loved. The prices were great. Everything was great. They only have one bathroom, but it was so clean and nice. I am glad BEX wasted their time not serving us(they were not busy either) because it gave us the opportunity to try something new and delicious!

  • *****

The best kept secret in Lancaster. I would always go to the competitor maribels but that place has lost the quality of food and they seem to not care. I decided to find a new place. Man have I been missing out. The food is delicious. Their cantarito breakfast is delicious. The frijoles, the platanitos are the best. This is certainly my new place. Excellent home made tasting food and the service is great also.

Just had the best breakfast ever! This family owned El Salvadorian Resturant is a true find. I came in for a pupas and ended up trying their "Traditional Breakfast"! I have never had eggs prepared as good as these--- ANYWHERE! The fried bananas are a favorite of mine and these were delicious. I shouldn't tell you about the tortillas, because that would give away that I ate both of them. Fresh and homemade, how could I resist. The service was very attentive and friendly as you would hope for a family run business!!! They have a good location but you have to look hard to find them. They are on the BLVD next to the B of A ATM machines. I can't wait to come back and try dinner next.

  • *****

The best pupusas I've had for a while, the place it's really nice, I highly recommend it

  • *****

First time I had Salvadorian food. It was soooo good!! Everyone needs to come here to try. Prices are amazing

  • *****

First visit! I ordered 3 different pupusas all delicious ! Cheese mixed and bean/cheese! Pricing is fair, place is very clean, nice and quite too. Come explore the menu and enjoy yourself!

  • *****

    Excellent and friendly Customer service!!
Great selection of typical authentic salvadorean food.
I live in Cal City, but whenever I'm in town and have a craving for pupusas or "Platanos Fritos" this has become the spot to hit up.

  • *****

Customer service still a top rate here!
Food quality=fresh made to order; be patient it's worth the wait.
The plating= well plated and entices your palate to eat.
I really like this place and as a plus they also serve
    Atole de Elote! So yummy!

You got me at HOME MADE Pupusas! SOLD!

Found this place on a whim as we were driving home from a fun weekend at Mammoth Mountain. I was just trying to find a place that would be accommodating to the tastes of everyone and just thought, can't go wrong with Salvadoran food! This place just popped up on my yelp at and we all agreed to just go for it and try it out? Why not with such stellar reviews from the community!

Great service as well! They gave us complimentary freshly made chips and salsa while we wait for our food. It's pretty darn good and addicting. I ordered 2 pupusas (one with shrimp and cheese and another with cheese and jalapenos) Both were so GOOD! VERY filling so keep that in mind if you want to order more food... I did that mistake by ordering more food (an entree) on top of that. My entree that I ordered was their really delicious beef stew with veggies and comes with rice and a house salad. SO as you can see, this is A LOT of food! Back to the stew, it was truly amazing, the beef was nice and tender and had lots of flavor with carrots and potatoes. Tried my friend's plantains and those were pretty amazing!

PARKING: along the streets and the middle section from what I can see.

Payments: they take cards and cash and if you want to do split checks, they can do that up front, just tell them what you ordered and it's taken care of.

Overall, I would definitely come back if I'm ever in Lancaster again! Thanks for the amazing food!
